12U Director

 Todd Smolen   “Smoley the Goalie”

Thank you for considering me for the 12U Director. I have been involved with hockey for most of my life and would love to bring my passion for hockey to the Clifton Park Youth program. My son George has played for the organization for the last four years and I have been an assistant coach in the Eagles program for the past three years. I played high school hockey for the Spencerport Rangers near Rochester, NY and continue to play men’s league in my spare time.

I believe that the development of kids both on and off the ice is crucial in their overall growth which will help them become better leaders and members of our community. In addition to volunteering within the Clifton Park Youth Hockey Association, I currently help teach Sunday school at the Shen United Methodist Church in Clifton Park and was part of the Big Brothers organization for many years. Professionally I am a financial advisor that requires constant and clear communication with clients. Being able to effectively communicate is one of the most important requirements of the league’s director. The combination of my passion for the game, my experience with developing our children and effective communication skills will make me a great fit for the 12U position.
