After a tremendously successful introductory season, CP Skills Academy return for the 2016-17 hockey season with the goal of providing an instructional experience that allows each player to improve their skills, knowledge of the game, and overall self-confidence as it relates to the game through a "positive" learning experience.
WHY SKILLS ACADEMY?
The Academy was formed in part to reach each Clifton Park player affording them the opportunity to participate in a guided instructional ice time that focuses on individual skill and understanding of the game of hockey promoting USA Hockey’s ADM.
HOW DOES THE USA’s HOCKEY ADM LOOK?
At the younger age levels, it looks like fun and constant motion in small spaces. The ADM encourages station-based practices, small-area games and cross-ice competition to deliver more repetitions, more puck touches and more skill development per hour of ice time. It provides the most efficient, most engaging development path for children, keeping them both in the game and on a path toward their full potential.
